Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation Using Electrically Small Tuned Dipole Antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2006
We present a methodology for the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using the induced voltages that are measured at the loads connected to electrically small tuned dipole antenna arrays illuminated by the signal of interest (SOI). The matrix pencil method is applied directly to the induced voltages to estimate the DOA of the various signals.

Virtural receiving array (VRA) method for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation

Proceedings of the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
Using the data from a signal-element receiver on a moving Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV), this paper introduces a VRA method to obtain the data that can be used in the Direct Data Domain (D3) method for the signal DOA estimation.

Direction of Arrival (DOA) Estimation

2019
The importance of DOA estimation in radar processing for automotive applications cannot be overstated. It forms the third component of the radar cube: range, velocity, and angle. In practice, DOA estimation is often complicated by the fact that there will be multiple and unknown number of source signals impinging on the receiver array at the same time,

Comparative Study of Wideband Subspace Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation methods

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008
Signal subspace Methods like ESPRIT, MUSIC and MATRIX PENCIL, provides high resolution Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation in comparison to traditional Delay and Sum and Capon methods, which are limited by sensor spacing. However underwater Acoustics signals are inherently wideband in nature and most of these Subspace methods works on narrowband ...

Estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) using real-time Array Signal Processing

2008 International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2008
Array Signal Processing (ASP) is a relatively new technique in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with many potential applications in communication and speech processing. Direction of arrival (DOA) can be estimated using different techniques evolved with ASP.

Adaptive filtering algorithm for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with small snapshots

Digital Signal Processing, 2019
Abstract The direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem with a few noisy snapshots can be formulated as a problem of finding a joint sparse representation of multiple measurement vectors (MMV), and some algorithms based on compressive sensing (CS), such as the joint l 0 approximation DOA (JLZA-DOA) and Multiple Snapshot Matching ...

Parallel wavelet transform based wideband Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) on multicore/GPU

IEEE International Conference on Electro-Information Technology , EIT 2013, 2013
In most of the signal processing applications, main interest is to obtain an accurate estimation of the Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) of a received signal. Computation of Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) based on Wavelet transform and other techniques are available in the literature. This work is an improved work of our previously parallel implementation of DOA.

Millidegree-Level Direction-of-Arrival (DoA) Estimation and Tracking for Terahertz Wireless Communications

2020 17th Annual IEEE International Conference on Sensing, Communication, and Networking (SECON), 2020
The Terahertz (0.1-10 THz) band is envisioned to meet the rapid growth of wireless data rates. Achieving high beamforming gain and reduced hardware complexity, the array-of-subarrays (AoSA) hybrid beamforming is a promising technology to be adopted for THz communications.

Low complexity direction of arrival (DoA) estimation for 2D massive MIMO systems

2012 IEEE Globecom Workshops, 2012
Mobile data traffic is expected to almost double every year from 2012 to 2016. In order to address the challenge, “massive MIMO” has been proposed as one of the enabling technologies to significantly increase the spectral-efficiency of a wireless system.

Performance enhancement of aperture antennas used for estimation of Direction of Arrival (DOA)

2014 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2014
In this paper, we propose a method based on signal processing techniques to improve the performance of aperture antennas, such as a parabolic reflector, used to estimate the Direction of Arrival (DOA) of a signal. Three signal processing algorithms are investigated, including the correlation method, which is used to make an initial estimate of the ...
