Sound Localization through Multi-Scattering and Gradient-Based Optimization
A gradient-based optimization (GBO) method is presented for acoustic lens design and sound localization. GBO uses a semi-analytical optimization combined with the principle of acoustic reciprocity.

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

A System of Generalized Variational-Hemivariational Inequalities with Set-Valued Mappings
By using surjectivity theorem of pseudomonotone and coercive operators rather than the KKM theorem and fixed point theorem used in recent literatures, we obtain some conditions under which a system of generalized variational-hemivariational inequalities ...

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Second-order directional derivatives of spectral functions
A spectral function of a symmetric matrix X is a function which depends only on the eigenvalues of X, λ1 (X) ≥ λ2(X) ≥≥ λn (X), and may be written as ƒ (λ1 (X), λ2(X), , λn (X)) for some symmetric function ƒ.

Worst case complexity of direct search
In this paper, we prove that the broad class of direct-search methods of directional type based on imposing sufficient decrease to accept new iterates shares the worst case complexity bound of steepest descent for the unconstrained minimization of a ...
