Differential effects of gender and age on dynamic subjective visual vertical
In a retrospective study, the data of direction-dependent deviations in dynamic subjective visual vertical (SVV) testing were analysed in 1811 dizzy patients (174 benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, 99 unilateral vestibulopathy, 67 bilateral ...

A general framework for solving image inverse problems is introduced in this paper. The approach is based on Gaussian mixture models, estimated via a computationally efficient MAP-EM algorithm. A dual mathematical interpretation of the proposed framework

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Broadband Butler Matrices with the Use of High-Pass LC Sections as Left-Handed Transmission Lines [PDF]
An application of left-handed transmission line sections in Butler matrices has been investigated. It has been shown, for the first time, that the utilization of both left-handed and right-handed transmission lines allows for broadband differential phase

Estimation of time delay by coherence analysis [PDF]
Using coherence analysis (which is an extensively used method to study the correlations in frequency domain, between two simultaneously measured signals) we estimate the time delay between two signals. This method is suitable for time delay estimation of

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

In this study, the indicative effect of the steering flow and the ventilation flow on the motion of tropical cyclones (TCs) is studied when the TCs are nearshore or landfalling.

Avery Final Report: Identification and Cross-Directional Control of Coating Processes [PDF]
Coating refers to the covering of a solid with a uniform layer of liquid. Of special industrial interest is the cross-directional control of coating processes, where the cross-direction refers to the direction perpendicular to the substrate movement. The

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
