Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

La gestion du désaccord lors des délibérations en cours d’appel : la politesse stratégique

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Assessing the Spatial Similarity of Soil Moisture Patterns and Their Environmental and Observational Drivers from Remote Sensing and Earth System Modeling Across Europe

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Soil moisture is an essential climate variable exhibiting strong spatio-temporal dynamics, especially in the topsoil. Therefore, it is assessed multiple times by sensors within in situ networks, satellites, and by modeling of the Earth system.

Disagreement and Philosophical Progress [PDF]

In “Belief in the Face of Controversy,” Hilary Kornblith argues for a radical form of epistemic modesty: given that there has been no demonstrable cumulativeprogress in the history of philosophy – as there has been in formal logic, math, and science ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.
