Disappearing hypercalcaemia [PDF]

open access: yesPostgraduate Medical Journal, 1987
Summary Four women presented with symptomatic hypercalcaemia and raised concentrations of serum parathyroid hormone (PTH). In each case, serum calcium returned spontaneously to normal. In two patients serum PTH also fell to the normal range and biochemical relapse has not occurred despite prolonged follow-up.

Jean Rouaud. « La source noire » de l’écriture

open access: yesRecherches & Travaux, 2020
Mourning for Jean Rouaud is the primary condition for becoming a writer. The experience of loss, repeated over and over again, is at the origin of writing and of an author’s identity, particularly with the premature death of the father when his son was ...

Fake CPT Violation in Disappearance Neutrino Oscillations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We make an analysis of the fake CPT-violating asymmetries between the survival probabilities of neutrinos and antineutrinos, induced by the terrestrial matter effects, in three different scenarios of long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments with L ...

Tensions between the appearance data of T2K and NOvA

open access: yes, 2020
The long baseline neutrino experiments, T2K and NOvA, have taken significant amount of data in each of the four channels: (a) $\nu_\mu$ disappearance, (b) $\bar\nu_\mu$ disappearance (c) $\nu_e$ appearance and (d) $\bar\nu_e$ appearance.

Disappearance of the Progenitor of Supernova iPTF13bvn [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Supernova (SN) iPTF13bvn in NGC 5806 was the first Type Ib SN to have been tentatively associated with a progenitor candidate in pre-explosion images. We performed deep ultraviolet (UV) and optical Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observations of the SN site

Disappearing Polymorphs Revisited [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2015
AbstractNearly twenty years ago, Dunitz and Bernstein described a selection of intriguing cases of polymorphs that disappear. The inability to obtain a crystal form that has previously been prepared is indeed a frustrating and potentially serious problem for solid‐state scientists.

Can hadronic rescattering explain the "jet quenching" at RHIC? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Recent RHIC data have shown novel nuclear modifications of moderate to high pt particle production in central Au+Au collisions, including a suppression of hadron production and a disappearance of back-to-back hadron pairs.

Estimates of avian collision with power lines and carcass disappearance across differing environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Data on collisions of birds with high-voltage electric power lines are scarce and are often gathered without protocols for the correction of carcass disappearance.

Auster’s “Album” in Report from the Interior: Analysis and Analogies

open access: yesE-REA, 2019
The article is devoted to the final section of Paul Auster’s 2013 Report from the Interior. We first attempt to imagine the various ways readers integrate the “Album” of images into their experience of the book.
