A Hybrid Disassembly Sequence Planning Approach for Maintenance
Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, 2002This paper describes a hybrid approach to handle disassembly sequence planning for maintenance. The product under maintenance is first modeled using a novel hybrid graph known as Disassembly Constraint Graph (DCG) which embodies complete disassembly information and can be used to prune the search space of disassembly sequences.

Disassembly sequencing using a motion planning approach
Proceedings 2001 ICRA. IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.01CH37164), 2002Our motion planning based approach treats the parts in the assembly as robots and operates in the composite configuration space of the parts' individual configuration spaces. Randomized techniques inspired by recent motion planning methods are used to sample configurations in this space. Since typical assemblies consist of many parts, the corresponding

Connector-link-part-based disassembly sequence planning
Concurrent Engineering, 2021Under the trend of concurrent engineering, the correspondence between functions and physical structures in product design is gaining importance. Between the functions and parts, connectors are the basic unit for engineers to consider. Moreover, the relationship between connector-liaison-part will help accomplish the integration of information.

Modelling of Robotic Disassembly Sequence Planning
2021This chapter discusses the prerequisites of robotic disassembly sequence planning as opposed to manual disassembly planning. Optimisation variables, objectives and constraints are summarised and modelled mathematically. Multiple disassembly operations with direction change and tool change, additional adjustment strategies, backup strategies, and human ...

An improved disassembly hybrid graph model for selective disassembly sequence planning
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2023Disassembly is an inevitable step in the recovery of valuable materials from end-of-life (EoL) mobile phones. Although a Hybrid Graph is one of the prevalent method for disassembly modeling, it cannot accurately describe the subassembly disassembling process.

Robotic Disassembly Sequence Re-planning
2021Based on the detection strategy introduced in Chapter 4, a ternary Bees Algorithm is presented to provide a re-planning solution, combining the disassembly order and the direction of not only detachable components but also the removable subassemblies. The algorithm possesses the merits of both the original Bees Algorithm and greedy search.

Multiple-Target Selective Disassembly Sequence Planning With Disassembly Sequence Structure Graphs
Volume 3: 38th Design Automation Conference, Parts A and B, 2012Modern green products must be easy to disassemble. Selective disassembly is used to access and remove specific product components for reuse, recycling, or remanufacturing. Early related studies developed various heuristic or graph-based approaches for single-target selective disassembly.

Efficient planning of disassembly sequences in physics-based animation
2009 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2009We address the problem of disassembly planning from a novel perspective. In the proposed method the goal is to find all the physically admissible subassemblies in which a set of objects can be disassembled and to identify feasible disassembly motions. Stability of object configurations under the effect of gravity and friction is computed by relying on ...

Product Representation for Disassembly Sequence Planning
2021Most disassembly optimisation problems start with designing a mathematical representation that can describe component relations. This chapter discusses and compares three major groups of component relation models: the matrix-based model, graph-based model and hybrid-based model.

An Economical Approach for Disassembly Sequence Planning
2019 IEEE 5th International Conference on Mechatronics System and Robots (ICMSR), 2019This article focuses on disassembly sequence planning (DSP) to maximize economical yield by comparing complete disassembly and partial disassembly. In this content, the problem is in NP-complete. Therefore, Genetic algorithm is introduced to solve this problem.
