Predicting Loss of Ambulation in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy R9
ABSTRACT Background Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type R9 (LGMDR9) results from biallelic variants in FKRP. There is limited data to predict loss of ambulation (LOA) among those with LGMDR9. Methods Participants in an ongoing dystroglycanopathy natural history study (NCT00313677) with FKRP variants who had achieved ambulation and were more than 3 ...

Real‐World Performance of CSF Kappa Free Light Chains in the 2024 McDonald Criteria
ABSTRACT Objective Kappa free light chains (KFLCs) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) have a similar performance to CSF‐restricted oligoclonal bands (OCB) for multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. To help with implementation, we set out to resolve several remaining uncertainties: (1) performance in a real‐world cohort and the 2024 McDonald criteria; (2 ...

Clearance angle and evolution of depth of cut in actuated disc cutting
This paper investigates the effect of cutter clearance angle on variation of depth of cut and cutting process with an actuated disc cutting (ADC). ADC is a cyclic cutting method with two main characteristics: (i) a disk-shape cutter is used to attack the

Effect of Silicon Content on Carbide Precipitation and Low-Temperature Toughness of Pressure Vessel Steels [PDF]
Cr – Mn – Mo – Ni pressure vessel steels containing 0.54 and 1.55% Si are studied. Metallographic and fractographic analyses of the steels after tempering at 650 and 700°C are performed.

Objective We assessed whether circulating adipokines are associated with incident fractures in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Three adipokines (adiponectin, leptin, and fibroblast growth factor [FGF]‐21) were measured using banked enrollment serum from participants in a longitudinal RA cohort.

Xurography actuated valving for arbitrary timing of centrifugal flow control in parallelized multi-step bioassays [PDF]
Here we introduce a new, instrument controlled valving scheme for the centrifugal platform which is based upon dissolvable film (DF) technology. Liquid, restrained at any point upon the disc, is prevented from wetting a DF via a trapped gas pocket ...

Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.
