Diffusion of Disc Golf Courses in the United States

Geographical Review, 2013
Over the past several decades, geographers have examined the expansion of golf facilities throughout the United States (Adams and Rooney 1985, 1989; Rooney and Pillsbury 1992; Rooney 1993; Napton and Laingen 2008). These studies have described the changing spatial patterns of golf courses over time and the evolution of golf regions.

Diffuse Intervertebral Disc Calcification

Annals of Internal Medicine, 1977
Excerpt To the editor: In a recent letter (Ann Intern Med85:616-619, 1976), Ballou and associates present a case of diffuse intervertebral disc calcification associated with local infiltration of a...

Reliability of Disc Diffusion Susceptibility Testing

Infection Control, 1982
AbstractWe retested 2,181 bacteria-antibiotic combinations with the Kirby-Bauer disc-diffusion technique and found interpretive changes with 120 (5.5%). Most changes (101 of 120) were single steps (i.e. from R to I, I to R or S, or S to I). Of the 19 remaining, 10 of them were from R to Sand nine from S to R.

Penicillin susceptibility testing of gonococci by disc diffusion

Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 1981
This study investigated the use of various beta-lactam discs in the detection of penicillin sensitive, intermediate resistant and resistant strains (minimal inhibitory concentrations of penicillin G of less than 0.06, 0.06 to 0.25, and greater than 0.25 mg/l respectively).

Preparation of Ormetoprim–Sulfadimethoxine-Medicated Discs for Disc Diffusion Assay

North American Journal of Aquaculture, 2011
Abstract Romet (a blend of ormetoprim and sulfadimethoxine) is a type A medicated article for the manufacture of medicated feed in the catfish industry. Recently, the commercial manufacture of ormetoprim–sulfadimethoxine susceptibility discs was discontinued.

SUSCEPTIBILITY TESTING WITH DISC DIFFUSION FOR NEW CEPHALOSPORINS: PRE‐DIFFUSION REVISITED

Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Series B: Microbiology, 1986
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of 20‐hour pre‐diffusion, i.e. placing the antibiotic‐containing discs on the agar for 20 hours prior to inoculation, as compared to direct diffusion, i.e. placing the discs on the agar immediately after inoculation, for the newer 3.

Diffusion instability in a bi-modal disc

International Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1984
ABSTRACTA simplified model of radial diffusion in a particle disc with a bi-modal size distribution is presented. The large particle component excites the small particles’ dispersion velocity via gravitational scattering. The resulting small particle viscous stress goes through a maximum near τ ~ √3 Such a stress profile promotes the development of ...
