Further Improving Coulombic Efficiency and Discharge Capacity in LiNiO2 Material by Activating Sluggish similar to 3.5 V Discharge Reaction

open access: yes, 2021
The electrochemical activity of LiNiO2 at the initial cycle and factors affecting its activity were understood. Even though LiNiO2 can achieve almost theoretical charge capacity, it cannot deliver the theoretical discharge capacity that would result in ...

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Hierarchical Porosity and Surface Oxygenation of Carbon-Based Cathodes Enhances Discharge Capacity and Decreases Discharge Overpotential of Potassium–Oxygen Batteries

open access: yesBatteries
Potassium–oxygen batteries (KOBs) are a promising energy storage technology with high theoretical energy density, low overpotential and a long cycle life. The cathode microstructure plays a significant role in the electrochemical performance of KOB.

Experimental Study of Discharge Coefficient of Symmetric and Asymmetric Rectangular Labyrinth Weirs

open access: yesعلوم آب و خاک, 2022
The discharge coefficient of labyrinth weirs increases with increasing the crest length in a certain width range. The present research was carried out in a laboratory flume with a length of 8 m, a width of 0.6 m, and a height of 0.6 m.

Developing Flood Discharge Capacity of Kmait River

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2008
Kmait River is a flood escape that was constructed to divert water duringflood season from Tigris River to Al Huwayza Marsh through AsSanna'f Marsh.Water stored in Al Huwayza Marsh is then discharged to Tigris River, through AlKassara River, and to Shatt Al Arab River, through AsSuwayb River.Kmait River, AsSanna'f Marsh, and Al Huwayza Marsh form ...

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Discharge Capacity of Energy Storages as a Function of the Discharge Current–Expanding Peukert’s equation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
In 1897 Wilhelm Peukert tested lead-acid batteries with constant current and observed that a single equation can describe the relationship between the discharge capacity of the battery and a constant discharge current.

High‐Temperature Phase Transformation in a V‐9Si‐6.5B Alloy: The Kinetic and Crystallographic Pathway From V5SiB2 to V8SiB4

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In situ synchrotron high‐energy X‐ray diffraction reveals the real‐time high‐temperature phase evolution of a ternary V‐9Si‐6.5B alloy. The study uncovers a kinetically delayed V5SiB2 → V8SiB4 transformation governed by massive structural and chemical barriers.

Microstructure Modification of Additively Manufactured Mo–9Si–8B by Annealing and Its Effects on High‐Temperature Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Postbuild annealing systematically modifies the phase fractions and morphology of EB‐PBF processed Mo–9Si–8B. Quantitative microstructure–property correlations reveal how controlled phase evolution enhances high‐temperature compressive strength and creep resistance.
