Temperature-sensitive repetitive discharges in paramyotonia congenita

Muscle & Nerve, 1997
A 47-year-old female with paramyotonia congenita was studied with electromyography and showed minimal myotonic discharges but prominent repetitive discharges in hand muscles at room temperature. With cooling the hand, the repetitive discharges ceased as the myotonic potentials became prominent. With exercise and further cooling, the myotonic discharges

The determination of the discharge channel axis temperature as a function of discharge time

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1969
Abstract The normalized intensity values as functions of channel-axis temperature have been calculated on an electronic computer for Ar I 3554.31, Ar II 3576.61, Ar III 3503.58, Cu I 5153.585, Cu II 3903.163, Cu III 2643.92, Fe I 5307.365, and Ne II 3334.87 A spectrum lines. These data are useful for determining the discharge channel-axis temperature

Excited Electron Temperature and Molecular Vibration Temperature During Transition from Filamentary Discharge to Glow Discharge in Surface Discharge in Air

Plasma Science and Technology, 2007
A dielectric barrier surface discharge device was used to investigate the transition from a filamentary discharge to a glow discharge in air at different gas pressures. Discharge images and waveforms of the applied voltage and discharge current were recorded simultaneously, and it was found that the discharge could transit from filamentary to glow with

Electron temperature in glow discharge plasmas

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1989
The mechanism of electron temperature determination in a positive column of glow discharge plasmas was explained in terms of the balance of charged particle creation against the loss to the wall, in which Friedman's modification of Bohm's sheath criterion was taken into account.

Discharge Temperatures From Pulverizers

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1939
Abstract In view of the fact that the temperature of discharge from coal pulverizers was of interest because of the effect that it might have on the amount of air passing through the preheater, and on the amount of uncontrollable air through the furnace, data were taken in a number of plants covering temperature of air entering ...

Perpendicular temperature of the helium discharge in the c-stellarator

Journal of Nuclear Energy. Part C, Plasma Physics, Accelerators, Thermonuclear Research, 1965
The perpendicular pressure and temperature of a current-carrying helium plasma in the C-Stellarator have been measured by means of a diamagnetic coil. In order to reduce recycling a pulsed gas-feed is used. The perpendicular temperature shows fairly good agreement with the resistivity temperature.

Spectroscopic temperature measurements in a microwave discharge

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1996
We report temperature measurements in a low-pressure hydrogen microwave plasma. Translational temperatures both of H and of (using Doppler broadening), as well as the rotational temperature of , are simultaneously determined. It is first shown that the rotational temperature of the excited state is not in equilibrium with the translational ...

Rapid Temperature Reduction of Thermal Discharge

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1975
The temperature of a heated effluent stream, discharging from a thermoelectric power station, can be reduced by introducing a tempering water flow in the discharge channel upstream from the receiving body. This laboratory model study investigates the possibility of increasing the rate of temperature reduction by optimizing the mixing process between ...

Excitation Temperatures in the Hollow Cathode Discharge

Applied Spectroscopy, 1981
Excitation or spectroscopic temperatures have been determined for various operating conditions of a hollow cathode discharge. It was found that the temperatures measured do not significantly change over the range of conditions studied. These results are compared to those obtained in other low-pressure discharges.
