Discontinuous Galerkin Methods

2018
Two GDMs are obtained from the Discontinuous Galerkin setting. The first one recovers the high order SIPG schemes in the case of linear problems, the second one, based on average jumps, leads to simpler computations.

Discontinuous-Galerkin microwave imaging

2014 16th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM), 2014
We develop a high-order contrast source inversion method for solving the inverse scattering problem in electromagnetics. To decouple inversion from the mesh discretization, the algorithm supports high-order expansions for the fields, contrast and contrast sources on each element.

Mixed Plane Wave Discontinuous Galerkin Methods

2009
In this paper, we extend the class of plane wave discontinuous Galerkin methods for the two-dimensional inhomogeneous Helmholtz equation presented in Gittelson, Hiptmair, and Perugia [2007]. More precisely, we consider the case of numerical fluxes defined in mixed form, namely, numerical fluxes explicitly defined in terms of both the primal and the ...

Discontinuous Galerkin Model of Cellular Electroporation

2018 40th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2018
Electroporation (EP) is a phenomenon involving both nonlinear biophysical processes and complex geometries. When exposed to strong electric fields, the formation of pores within a cell membrane increases the membrane permeability. Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element methods can directly enforce these flux jumps across the thin cell membrane ...

Discontinuous Galerkin methods for non-linear elasticity

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2006
Summary: This paper presents the formulation and a partial analysis of a class of discontinuous Galerkin methods for quasistatic non-linear elasticity problems. These methods are endowed with several salient features. The equations that define the numerical scheme are the Euler-Lagrange equations of a one-field variational principle, a trait that ...
