DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN FOR TURBULENT FLOWS
2011The purpose of this chapter is to present all the relevant features of a high-order DG method developed over the years for the numerical solution of the RANS and k-w equations. The method has been implemented using orthogonal and hierarchical modal shape functions defined in the real space.

Discontinuous Galerkin in time
2021In the previous two chapters, we have used finite differences to approximate the time derivative in the space semi-discrete parabolic problem. We now adopt a different viewpoint directly relying on a space-time weak formulation. The time approximation is realized by using piecewise polynomial functions over the time mesh.

Discontinuous Galerkin Methods
2008In this article, we describe some simple and commonly used discontinuous Galerkin methods for elliptic, Stokes and convection-diffusion problems. We illustrate these methods by numerical experiments.

Discontinuous Galerkin Methods
2012In this final chapter we present the discontinuous Galerkin (dG) method. This method is based on finite element spaces that consist of discontinuous piecewise polynomials defined on a partition of the computational domain. Such methods are very flexible, for example, since they allow construction of more general methods and since they allow for simple ...

Discontinuous Galerkin Methods
2018Two GDMs are obtained from the Discontinuous Galerkin setting. The first one recovers the high order SIPG schemes in the case of linear problems, the second one, based on average jumps, leads to simpler computations.

Discontinuous-Galerkin microwave imaging
2014 16th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics (ANTEM), 2014We develop a high-order contrast source inversion method for solving the inverse scattering problem in electromagnetics. To decouple inversion from the mesh discretization, the algorithm supports high-order expansions for the fields, contrast and contrast sources on each element.

Mixed Plane Wave Discontinuous Galerkin Methods
2009In this paper, we extend the class of plane wave discontinuous Galerkin methods for the two-dimensional inhomogeneous Helmholtz equation presented in Gittelson, Hiptmair, and Perugia [2007]. More precisely, we consider the case of numerical fluxes defined in mixed form, namely, numerical fluxes explicitly defined in terms of both the primal and the ...
