Confirming the impact origin of the São Miguel do Tapuio structure, northeastern Brazil

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract The São Miguel do Tapuio structure (SMT) is a remarkable, nearcircular feature of about 21 km diameter, centered at 5°37.6′ S, 41°23.3′ W in Piauí state, northeastern Brazil. The structure is located within the sedimentary strata of the Paleozoic–Mesozoic Parnaíba Basin and predominantly comprises sandstones of the Devonian Pimenteiras and ...

Pension Systems (Un)sustainability and Fiscal Constraints: A Comparative Analysis

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using an overlapping generations model, two new indicators of public pension system sustainability are proposed: the pension space, which measures the capacity to pay for pension expenditures out of labour taxation, and the pension space exhaustion probability reflecting demographic uncertainties.

Threshold Regression for Fixed‐T$$ T $$ Panel Data with Interactive Fixed Effects

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a new toolbox for estimation and inference in panel data threshold regression models with interactive fixed effects and a fixed number of time periods, T$$ T $$. The toolbox is designed to be simple, accurate, and computationally efficient.

Integrating food systems into the international climate law and policy framework

open access: yesReview of European, Comparative &International Environmental Law, EarlyView.
Abstract While responsible for nearly one‐third of global greenhouse gas emissions, food systems long remained peripheral to the legal and political architecture of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This article outlines the policy shifts that have led food systems to become increasingly central to the UNFCCC and its ...

Health effects of a youth labor market activation policy

open access: yesThe Scandinavian Journal of Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract We examine the health effects of a labor market activation policy in Sweden, the Youth Job Guarantee. To estimate causal effects, we implement a regression discontinuity design using the policy's age‐eligibility threshold, together with detailed administrative data on health‐related outcomes, including indicators of mental health.

Repelled Point Processes With Application to Numerical Integration

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We look at Monte Carlo numerical integration from a stochastic geometry point of view. While crude Monte Carlo estimators relate to linear statistics of a homogeneous Poisson point process (PPP), linear statistics of more regularly spread point processes can yield unbiased estimators with faster‐decaying variance, and thus lower integration ...
