Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Light and Dark Cycles Control the Structural Evolution of Photoresponsive Supramolecular Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Here, we report a photoswitchable synthetic peptide that, under light energy cycles, exhibits supramolecular polymorphism coupled to darkness‐driven structural self‐selection. We demonstrate that light sustains a transient assembled state in the form of helical nanoribbons, hindering the system from undergoing a transition to the disassembled state ...

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Implementation of Three Phase-Discontinuous Space Vector Modulation Using Single DSC-PWM Module

open access: yesCommunications, 2013
The paper presents an implementation of a discontinuous space vector modulation of three phase inverter. The modulation is implemented in a DSC (Digital Signal Controller) using only one PWM module.

Novel high voltage gain dc–dc converter with dynamic analysis

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
This study proposes a non‐isolated dc–dc converter based on a coupled inductor and switch‐capacitor–boosting techniques. The goal of the proposed topology is to increase the voltage gain with low‐duty cycle, so voltage stresses are decreased across power

Research on Phase Current Reconstruction for DPWM2 of Induction Motor Drive System Based on DC-Link Current Sampling

open access: yesMachines, 2022
In order to reduce the switching loss and cost, as well as improve the reliability of the induction motor (IM) drive system, the technology involving the three-phase current reconstruction of 60° discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM2) is studied in

Pulse-Width Modulation Technique With Harmonic Injection in the Modulating Wave and Discontinuous Frequency Modulation for the Carrier Wave for Multilevel Inverters: An Application to the Reduction of Acoustic Noise in Induction Motors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
An implementation of a harmonic injection pulse width modulation frequency-modulated triangular carrier (HIPWM-FMTC) control strategy applied to a multilevel power inverter feeding an asynchronous motor is presented. The aim was to justify the reduction in acoustic noise emitted by the machine compared with other strategies in the technical literature.

Precipitation‐Modulated Harmonic Architectures Enable Superior Strength–Ductility Synergy from Cryogenic to Elevated Temperatures in Nanostructured Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Precipitation‐modulated recrystallization enables a programmable bimodal harmonic architecture in a high‐entropy alloy, delivering 1–2 GPa yield strength with >10% ductility from −196 °C to 700 °C. The resulting broad‐temperature robustness arises from the synergy of dual‐mode nanoprecipitation, harmonic core–shell topology, and temperature‐adaptive ...
