Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Discrete gradient method : Derivative-free method for nonsmooth optimization

open access: yes, 2008
A new derivative-free method is developed for solving unconstrained nonsmooth optimization problems. This method is based on the notion of a discrete gradient.

Efficient polar optimization of transport aircraft in transonic RANS flow using adjoint gradient based approach

open access: yes, 2012
A major design requirement for transport aircraft is efficient cruise flight in the transonic region. From the aerodynamic viewpoint, this is achieved by favorable lift-to-drag ratio of the aircraft, both at the main design point and at off-design ...

Dual‐Inductive and Programmable Switching: A New Paradigm in Ionic Interface‐Controlled Perovskite Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully programmable, dual‐inductive switchable halide perovskite memristor is demonstrated through precise BDAI2‐mediated interface engineering. This ion‐modulating layer suppresses stochastic filamentary growth, enabling stable, non‐filamentary switching via dynamic barrier modulation.

Discrete-Time Network Scheduling and Dynamic Optimization of Batch Processes with Variable Processing Times through Discrete-Steepest Descent Optimization

open access: yes
This work proposes a general discrete-time simultaneous scheduling and dynamic optimization (SSDO) formulation based on the state-task network (STN) representation. This formulation explicitly considers variable processing times, which is a key aspect in
