FREE VIBRATION OF KIRCHHOFF PLATES WITH SECTOR SHAPES BY THE METHOD OF DISCRETE SINGULAR CONVOLUTION
The free vibration of sector plates based on the classical Kirchhoff plate theory is analyzed by the method of discrete singular convolution using the Regularized Shannon delta (RSD) kernel. This method is applied to sector plates with a combination of boundary conditions, and the natural frequencies are calculated.

Numerical solution of incompressible flows by discrete singular convolution
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2002AbstractA discrete singular convolution (DSC) solver is developed for treating incompressible flows. Three different two‐dimensional benchmark problems, the Taylor problem, the driven cavity flow, and a periodic shear layer flow, are utilized to test the accuracy, to explore the reliability and to demonstrate the efficiency of the present approach ...

Abstract This study introduces a novel scheme for the discrete high-frequency forced vibration analysis based on discrete singular convolution (DSC) and mode superposition (MS) approaches. The accuracy of the DSC–MS is validated for thin beams and plates by comparing with available analytical solutions.

Vibration analysis of plates with curvilinear quadrilateral domains by discrete singular convolution method [PDF]
A methodology on application of the discrete singular convolution (DSC) technique to the free vibration analysis of thin plates with curvilinear quadrilateral platforms is developed. In the proposed approach, irregular physical domain is transformed into a rectangular domain by using geometric coordinate transformation.

VIBRATION ANALYSIS BY DISCRETE SINGULAR CONVOLUTION
Summary: This paper explores the utility of a discrete singular convolution algorithm for vibration analysis. A number of different realizations of singular convolution kernels are selected to illustrate the present algorithm. Vibration analysis of strings, rods, beams, diatomic molecules, membranes, waveguides and thin plates are utilized to test ...

Discrete singular convolution method for the analysis of Mindlin plates on elastic foundations
International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 2007The method of discrete singular convolution (DSC) is used for the bending analysis of Mindlin plates on two-parameter elastic foundations for the first time. Two different realizations of singular kernels, such as the regularized Shannon's delta (RSD) kernel and Lagrange delta sequence (LDS) kernel, are selected as singular convolution to illustrate ...

Vibration analysis of stepped rectangular plates by the discrete singular convolution algorithm
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2014Abstract A novel scheme in using discrete singular convolution (DSC) algorithm is proposed for analyzing the challenging vibration problem of thin plates with geometric discontinuity. An nth-order interpolation polynomial is employed on each side of a step.

Discrete Singular Convolution Method for Free Vibration Analysis of Tapered Rectangular Plates [PDF]
Discrete Singular Convolution (DSC) method has been proposed to obtain frequencies of tapered rectangular plates. Regularized Shannon's Delta (RSD) kernel is selected as a singular convolution to illustrate the present algorithm. In the proposed approach, the derivatives in both the governing equations and the boundary conditions are discretized by the
