Acylindrical visual splittings and the Tits alternative for Artin groups

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract We give a necessary and sufficient condition on a visual splitting of an Artin group satisfying the conclusions of two well‐known conjectures to be acylindrical, and demonstrate how this can be used to provide a large class of novel examples of Artin groups that satisfy the Tits alternative.

Free semigroups of large critical exponent

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract For a convergence group equipped with an expanding coarse‐cocycle, we construct finitely generated free subsemigroups, which we call Bishop−−Jonessemigroups$\textit{Bishop--Jones semigroups}$, of critical exponent arbitrarily close to but strictly less than the critical exponent of the ambient group.

Effective length‐projection bounds for hyperbolic 3‐manifolds diffeomorphic to S×R$S\times \mathbb {R}$

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract We give a formula with explicit constants relating the subsurface projection dY(ν−,ν+)$d_Y(\nu ^-,\nu ^+)$ of the end invariants ν−,ν+$\nu ^-,\nu ^+$ of a hyperbolic 3‐manifold Q$Q$ diffeomorphic to S×R$S\times \mathbb {R}$ and the length of the geodesic representative in Q$Q$ of the multicurve ∂Y$\partial Y$.

Lead‐Free Chiral Hybrid Metal Halides for Circularly Polarized Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 30, 14 August 2026.
Lead‐free chiral hybrid metal halides provide a versatile platform for realizing chiroptical responses through chiral modulation of metal–halide frameworks with diverse dimensionalities, induces inversion‐symmetry breaking and enables dissymmetric excited‐state transitions toward efficient circularly polarized luminescence and electroluminescence. Livelihood and Dietary Transitions in Subsistence Populations of Northern Laos: Insights From Carbon and Nitrogen Stable Isotope Analysis

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 190, Issue 4, August 2026.
Conceptual Framework: Livelihood, diet, and hair isotope values. ABSTRACT Objectives Rural populations in northern Laos have experienced dramatic socioeconomic transformation driven by national policies and regional economic integration, substantially influencing their self‐sufficient livelihoods.
