To Tilt or Not To Tilt: Discrete Gauge Symmetries in Global Intersecting D-Brane Models
Discrete gauge symmetries in global intersecting D-brane models constrain the exact form of the perturbative as well as non-perturbative superpotential. We derive the complete set of conditions on the existence of discrete Zn gauge symmetries on toroidal

Neutrino mixing and discrete symmetries [PDF]
In this paper we discuss a new way to derive neutrino mixing patterns, which originates from the idea proposed in a recent article by Hernandez and Smirnov. Its applications to various cases are discussed. We first present the complete set of possible mixing patterns for the minimal case where unbroken residual symmetries of the Majorana neutrino and ...

In this work, a reconfigurable T‐CMOS inverter based on vertically stacked MoS2 and WSe2 MOSFETs with a gate‐tunable MoS2 resistor, enabling stable ternary logic, is demonstrated. The T‐CMOS inverter supports electrical switching between ternary and binary modes and is further extended to implement ternary NAND (NMIN) and NOR (NMAX) logic gates ...

Discrete Symmetries from Broken $SU(N)$ and the MSSM
In order that discrete symmetries should not be violated by gravitational effects, it is necessary to gauge them. In this paper we discuss the gauging of $\Z_N$ from the breaking of a high energy $SU(N)$ gauge symmetry, and derive consistency conditions ...

Discrete symmetries and spectral statistics [PDF]
Summary: We calculate the 2-point spectral statistics associated with a given irreducible representation (i.e. symmetry class) for time-reversal invariant systems possessing discrete symmetries using semiclassical periodic orbit theory. When the representation in question is real or pseudo-real, our results conform to those of the Gaussian orthogonal ...

Flavor symmetries and winding modes
Modular flavor symmetries have been proposed as a new way to address the flavor problem. It is known that they can emerge from string compactifications.

Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by
