(Non-)Abelian discrete anomalies
We derive anomaly constraints for Abelian and non-Abelian discrete symmetries using the path integral approach. We survey anomalies of discrete symmetries in heterotic orbifolds and find a new relation between such anomalies and the so-called `anomalous'

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Discrete gauge groups in F-theory models on genus-one fibered Calabi-Yau 4-folds without section
We determine the discrete gauge symmetries that arise in F-theory compactifications on examples of genus-one fibered Calabi-Yau 4-folds without a section.

Flavor, CP and metaplectic modular symmetries in Type IIB chiral flux vacua
We examine symmetries of chiral four-dimensional vacua of Type IIB flux compactifications with vanishing superpotential W = 0. We find that the N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supersymmetric MSSM-like and Pati-Salam vacua possess enhanced discrete symmetries in ...

Gauge extension of non-Abelian discrete flavor symmetry [PDF]
We investigate a gauge theory realization of non-Abelian discrete flavor symmetries and apply the gauge enhancement mechanism in heterotic orbifold models to field-theoretical model building.

Discrete gauge symmetry anomalies
Abstract It has been recently argued that quantum gravity effects strongly violate all non-gauge symmetries. This would suggest that all low energy discrete symmetries should be gauge symmetries, either continuous or discrete. Acceptable continuous gauge symmetries are constrained by the condition they should be anomaly free.

Nanoindentation Criteria for Combinatorial Thin Film Libraries
Thin‐film material libraries are compositional spreads used for screening composition‐structure‐property relationships. Nanoindentation is often used to characterize mechanical behavior across these systems, however variations in methodology are widespread.

How to find discrete contact symmetries [PDF]
This paper describes a new algorithm for determining all discrete contact symmetries of any differential equation whose Lie contact symmetries are known. The method is constructive and is easy to use.
