System Identification of Time-delay Systems via Discrete-time Model with Non-integer Time-delay

open access: yesTransactions of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, 2017
A system identification method for time-delay systems via discrete-time model is proposed. It is assumed that the time-delay is a non-integer multiple of the sampling period. We describe the discretization of such time-delay systems and propose a new interpretation for system identification.

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Equivalent systems for differential equations with polynomially distributed delay

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems
We consider delay differential equations with a polynomially distributed delay. We derive an equivalent system of delay differential equations, which includes just two discrete delays.

The Effect of Impulsive Diffusion on Dynamics of a Stage-Structured Predator-Prey System

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2010
We investigate a predator-prey model with impulsive diffusion on predator and stage structure on prey. The globally attractive condition of prey-extinction periodic solution of the system is obtained by the stroboscopic map of the discrete dynamical ...

Multilayer Self‐Limiting Electrospray Deposition via Stepped Voltage Bias

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐limiting electrospray deposition (SLED) uses a high voltage to generate and deposit a charged payload on a target surface. The coating retains its charge, repelling newly arriving material. SLED thickness can be decreased by applying a secondary bias to the target.

Enhanced Ultrasound Transmission Through Aberration Layers Using Space‐Coiling Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Enhancing ultrasound transmission through an aberration layer exhibiting mismatched impedance with the surrounding medium possesses great implications in imaging and treatment. In this study, we show that a space‐coiling acoustic metamaterial with judiciously tailored structural profile can help improve impedance matching.

Group Controllability of Discrete-Time Time-Delayed Multiagent Systems with Multiple Leaders

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
The group controllability is a unique distinct perspective and a further generalization of the controllability problem of discrete-time time-delayed multiagent systems (MASs) with multiple leaders.

Irradiation‐Induced Spin Bath Evolution and as‐Grown Hydrogen Defects in CVD Diamond Revealed by NV‐Based DEER Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we provide the reader with the current state of the art in the fabrication of high‐T2‐coherence diamond, optimized through the use of double electron–electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy. We reveal the main as well as yet unidentified spin defects, the reduction of which is essential for reducing the spin bath and fabricating materials for ...
