Dynamics and simulations of discretized Caputo-conformable fractional-order Lotka–Volterra models

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2022
In this article, a prey–predator system is considered in Caputo-conformable fractional-order derivatives. First, a discretization process, making use of the piecewise-constant approximation, is performed to secure discrete-time versions of the two ...

Discrete Hardy Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fourier Analysis and Applications, 2014
The authors summarize the contents of this paper in the abstract as follows: We study the boundary behavior of discrete monogenic functions, i.e. null-solutions of a discrete Dirac operator, in the upper and lower half space. Calculating the Fourier symbol of the boundary operator we construct the corresponding discrete Hilbert transforms, the ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Discrete Green’s functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1973
Let G ( P ; Q ) G(P;Q) be the discrete Green’s function over a discrete h-convex region Ω \Omega of the plane; i.e., a ( P ) G x x ¯

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

Finite sections of truncated Toeplitz operators

open access: yes, 2014
We describe the $C^*$-algebra associated with the finite sections discretization of truncated Toeplitz operators on the model space $K^2_u$ where $u$ is an infinite Blaschke product.

INFORMATIONAL ENTROPY IN SIMULATION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL RANDOM FIELDS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2002
The entropy H of a continuous distribution with probability density function f(•) is defined as a function of the number of nodes (n) in a one-dimensional scalar random field.

Upscaling solid oxide electrolysis cell CFD simulations for hydrogen production

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics
The role of hydrogen production in the energy transition is of fundamental importance, and Solid Oxide Electrolysers (SOE) are expected to become one of the most efficient hydrogen production technologies. Upscaling Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells (SOECs)

Discrete Surfaces Segmentation into Discrete Planes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper is composed of two parts. In the first one, we present an analysis of existing discrete surface segmentation algorithms. We show that two classes of algorithms can actually be defined according to discrete surface and plane definitions. In the second part, we prove the link between the two classes presented.
