During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Diallyl trisulfides (DATs) selectively induce cuproptosis in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) by targeting Ras‐related protein Rab‐18 (RAB18) and regulating lipophagy. DATs promote RAB18 phase separation, enhance mitochondrial‐associated membrane structures (MAMs) formation, and increase succinylation of dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (DLD) at K320.

DISINFECTANTS AND DISINFECTION. [PDF]
The subject of disinfection is so broad and covers such a wide range of considerations that it is impossible to discuss it properly in the brief time allowed for this paper. Important as are such subjects as the disinfection of the patient's body, instruments, dressings, discharges of various kinds, etc., I have deemed it more important to view and ...

Disinfection of Fiberscopes by Thermochemical Disinfection
Endoscopy, 1991A new fully automated washing and disinfection machine for fiberscopes was evaluated. This apparatus, the Endoscopic Thermo Disinfector (ETD) uses a combination of heat and a brand name disinfectant containing glutaraldehyde to fulfill its purposes. The disinfectant showed effective antibacterial activity at the concentrations used in the ETD.

Biocides are helpful in different healthcare settings to reduce or eradicate harmful pathogens on the skin, medical devices, and in the environment. This article reviews recent advances in hand hygiene, instrument sterilization, decolonization with mupirocin, and the challenges posed by environmental contamination, and prion disease. Do biocides induce

This chapter discusses the various technologies that are used to destroy or prevent the growth of microorganisms via the process known as disinfection. A discussion of the use of heat to destroy microbes is followed by a discussion of the kinetics of disinfection, which involves the development of models that predict the outcome of disinfection.
