Interpretive criteria for temocillin disk diffusion susceptibility testing

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 1985
The susceptibility of 677 clinical bacterial isolates to temocillin was determined by broth microdilution and disk diffusion methods for the purpose of evaluating disks with three different temocillin concentrations and determining the temocillin disk diffusion interpretive criteria.

Colistin susceptibility testing by Etest and disk diffusion methods

International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, 2008
The accuracy of disk susceptibility methods for colistin against 778 bacterial pathogens was evaluated in comparison with Etest using interpretive criteria available from the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Colistin exhibited excellent activity against Acinetobacter baumannii and Escherichia coli isolates (minimum inhibitory ...

Antibiogramj: A tool for analysing images from disk diffusion tests

Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 2017
Disk diffusion testing, known as antibiogram, is widely applied in microbiology to determine the antimicrobial susceptibility of microorganisms. The measurement of the diameter of the zone of growth inhibition of microorganisms around the antimicrobial disks in the antibiogram is frequently performed manually by specialists using a ruler.

Disk diffusion and disk elution tests with A-56268 and erythromycin

European Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1987
Zones of inhibition around 15 micrograms A-56268 disks were essentially the same size as those around 15 micrograms erythromycin disks. If the same MIC breakpoints are to be used for defining susceptible categories for both macrolides, interpretive zone size standards for erythromycin disk tests may also be used for A-56268 disk tests.

DISK DIFFUSION SUSCEPTIBILITY TESTING OF DERMATOPHYTES WITH ALLYLAMINES

International Journal of Dermatology, 1994
Abstract Background. Allylamines are a newly developed group of drugs possessing a broad spectrum of activity against a wide range of fungi. With the advent of new antifungal drugs, susceptibility testing of fungi is receiving increased attention as important laboratory procedures for aiding in the selection of appropriate drug therapy. Methods.

Disk Diffusion Susceptibility Testing of Nocardia Species

Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1977
The effectiveness of 13 antimicrobial agents against 51 clinical isolates of Nocardia was determined with use of agar dilutions and disk diffusion method. Amikacin inhibited less than 90% of isolates and, like the other aminoglycosides, showed good correlation between minimal inhibitory concentrations and sizes of zones of inhibition around the disks ...

Detection of disk drug orientation for disk diffusion susceptibility testing

The 4th 2011 Biomedical Engineering International Conference, 2012
At the present, the microbiological infection is one of the most significant issues in the global. The medical laboratory diagnosis, microbiology, is the most popular way to identify a type of microbiology which is infected-source. Moreover, there are a few microbial prognoses to support a medical treatment.
