ACE Inhibitor‐Induced Angioedema following Cervical Spine Surgery

open access: yesCase Reports in Cardiology, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Angioedema is a well‐known side effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi). However, ACE inhibitors induced angioedema after cervical surgery is a rare condition. They result in increased levels of circulating bradykinins. Rare cases of angioedema following local trauma in patients using ACE inhibitors have been published.

Successful Long‐Term Use of Itraconazole for the Treatment of Aspergillus Diskospondylitis in a Dog

open access: yesCase Reports in Veterinary Medicine, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
A 5‐year‐old spayed female German shepherd dog was admitted with a history of generalized stiffness. Neurologic examination revealed mild paraparesis with multifocal spinal pain. Spinal radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging revealed diskospondylitis at L6‐7 and multiple sites throughout the thoracolumbar spine. Biopsy of the intervertebral disk at

Grade 2 Spondylolisthesis at L4‐5 Treated by XLIF: Safety and Midterm Results in the “Worst Case Scenario”

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Spondylolisthesis is one of the most common indications for spinal surgery. However, no one approach has been proven to be more effective in treating spondylolisthesis. Recent advances in minimally invasive spine technology have allowed for different approaches to be applied to this indication, notably extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF). The risk,

Anterior Cervical V‐Shaped Osteotomy and Fusion (ACVF) for Retro‐Corporeal Decompression Bypassing Anterior Corpus Vertebra: A Technical Note

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 2173-2182, July 2025.
Anterior cervical V‐shaped osteotomy and fusion (ACVF) is a procedure for posterior vertebral body decompression. Undamaged anterior vertebral endplate is assured for implant fixation, while adjacent intervertebral spaces were connected, proving complete decompression. Four patients who underwent ACVF had improved symptoms, an unimpaired fusion process,
