Disking and Prescribed Burning for Loblolly Pine Regeneration

Journal of Forests, 1967
Disking and three summer prescribed burning series were compared in the Virginia coastal plain on the basis of cost and effectiveness in regenerating loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.). Disking cost about four times more than the longest and most expensive

Disk

Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2020
Measuring similarities among different nodes is important in graph analysis. SimRank is one of the most popular similarity measures. Given a graph G ( V , E ) and a source node u , a single-source Sim-Rank query returns the similarities between

Open Disk Packings of a Disk

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1967
It is an old problem to find how a collection of congruent plane figures should be arranged without overlapping to cover the largest possible fraction of the plane or some region of the plane. If similar figures of arbitrary different sizes are permitted, Vitali's theorem ([7] p. 109) guarantees that packings which cover almost all points are possible.

Tillage effects on soil physical condition and root growth associated with sugarcane water availability

Soil & Tillage Research, 2019
We hypothesized that in-row deep tillage (DT) may improve crop resilience during dry spells through change in the soil physical/hydraulic properties, in root system development and yield. The objective of this study was to gain insight into the influence

Tilted Optic Disks

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2010
Tilted optic disks are a common finding in the general population. An expression of anomalous human development, the tilted disk appears rotated and tilted along its axes. Visual sequelae described with tilted optic disks include myopia, astigmatism, visual field loss, deficient color vision, and retinal abnormalities.

Large storm effects on total soil erosion

Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, 1991
: Soil erosion measurements on small upland watersheds totaling 229 watershed-years show that most of the total erosion occurring over a long-term period of record comes from a few large storms.

[Disk hypodensity and disk herniation].

Journal de radiologie, 1989
The authors report the case of a patient with a herniated lumbar disk and bacterial meningitis. CT scan showed central disk hypodensity at the hernia level, whilst full cytological and bacteriological study of the disk following surgery revealed no evidence of spondylodiscitis.

Cervical Disk Arthroplasty

Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 2019
Anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion has been and remains the benchmark surgical management of cervical degenerative disk disease. However, an increased use of cervical disk arthroplasty (CDA) has been found in the past few years. The purported benefits of CDA included preserved motion, less adjacent-level degeneration, and less morbidity.

Optic Disk Vasculitis

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1980
A 44-year-old woman developed progressive loss of vision associated initially with a swollen optic disk, and later with optic atrophy and a diffuse retinal vasculopathy, which caused extensive retinal hemorrhagagic. Histopathologic examination showed hemorrhagagic infarction of the retina, as well as infarction of the anterior optic nerve. In the optic
