Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

The Influence of Strain Rate on the Strength the Constructional Low-Alloy Steel
The article presents the results of the influence strain rates on the increase in strength of tested constructional steel. Elastic deformation simply involves stretching of atoms away from their equilibrium separation.

We study the dislocation formation in 2D nanoscopic islands with two methods, the Molecular Static method and the Phase Field Crystal method. It is found that both methods indicate the same qualitative stages of the nucleation process.

We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Impact of Defects on the Low-Field Electron Mobility in GaN-on-Si HEMTs
In this work, we investigate the field and temperature dependence of the electron mobility in aluminum-gallium-nitride/gallium-nitride (AlGaN/GaN) high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) realized on GaN-on-silicon (Si) substrates.

Dislocation networks in helium-4 crystals
The mechanical behavior of crystals is dominated by dislocation networks, their structure and their interactions with impurities or thermal phonons. However, in classical crystals, networks are usually random with impurities often forming non-equilibrium

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.
