Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

Mapping Multiracial Versus Monoracial Health Disparities

open access: yesRace and Social Problems
Multiracial people are often thought of as a symbol of racial progress in American society. But what is lost in this discourse are the consequences of distinct multiracial statuses for individuals who live in-between traditional racialized boundaries. In this study, we disentangle the implications of multiracial status for health by examining specific ...

Engineering Pendant Group Chemistry to Control Hydrophilicity and Oxidative Degradation of Thioketal‐Based Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thioketal (TK) polymers are promising biomaterials due to their selective biodegradation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), but they respond slowly to physiologic doses of ROS. Here, the TK bond's pendant groups are modified to enhance the degradation of TK‐based implants both in vitro and in vivo.

FAST ESTIMATION OF DENSE DISPARITY MAP USING PIVOT POINTS

open access: yes, 2013
In this thesis, a novel and fast method to compute the dense disparity map of a stereo pair of images is presented. Most of the current stereo matching algorithms are ill suited for real-time matching owing to their time complexity.

Enhancement Technique for Improving the Reliability of Disparity Map under Low Light Condition

open access: yes, 2014
A collision avoidance system is an automobile safety system designed to reduce the severity of an accident. It uses a combination of radar, laser and camera to detect the obstacles and avoid an imminent crash.

Phase Evolution Kinetics in Additive‐Free 19.75% Organic Photovoltaics Empowered by Solvent Vapor Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent vapor annealing enables kinetic control of additive‐free morphology in organic solar cells. Selective plasticization of acceptor forms an optimal fibrillar network, boosting efficiency to 19.06% (binary) and 19.75% (ternary), with ultrafast exciton dissociation and reduced recombination.

Improvement of horizontal streak on disparity map thru parameter optimization for stereo vision algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, an improved local based stereo vision disparity map (SVDM) algorithm is proposed. The proposed local based SVDM algorithm include four stages and they are matching cost computation, cost aggregation disparity optimization and disparity ...

Unified Analytical Framework for Understanding the Operational Stability of Blue Phosphorescent OLEDs: Quantitative Insights Into Exciton Recycling and Bimolecular Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Blue phosphorescent OLEDs remain limited by poor operational stability. Here, a unified analytical framework integrating transient photoluminescence and magneto‐electroluminescence is developed to correlate intrinsic material photophysics with electrically driven degradation.

Low‐Profile, High‐Gain GRIN RF Lenses via Multi‐Material Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the opportunity of leveraging multi‐material vat photopolymerization printing to manufacture intricate lenses exhibiting permittivity gradients that can increase signal gain in transmitted radiofrequency signals in the X‐ and Ku‐bands. Lenses produced with more distinct low‐loss materials (up to 5) can deliver an 18 dB signal gain with a

Multi-image Region Growing for Integrating Disparity Maps

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper, a multi-image region growing algorithm to obtain planar 3-D surfaces in the object space from multiple dense disparity maps, is presented. A surface patch is represented by a plane equation and a set of pixels in multiple images. The union of back projections of all pixels in the set onto the infinite plane, forms the surface patch ...
