Engineering method to build the composite structure ply database

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2016
In this paper, a new method to build a composite ply database with engineering design constraints is proposed. This method has two levels: the core stacking sequence design and the whole stacking sequence design.

High-energy magnetic excitations in overdoped La$_{2-x}$Sr$_{x}$CuO$_{4}$ studied by neutron and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering

open access: yes, 2015
We have performed neutron inelastic scattering and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) at the Cu-$L_3$ edge to study high-energy magnetic excitations at energy transfers of more than 100 meV for overdoped La$_{2-x}$Sr$_{x}$CuO$_{4}$ with $x=0.25$ (

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Anomalous momentum dependence of the multiband electronic structure of FeSe_1-xTe_x superconductors induced by atomic disorder

open access: yes, 2012
When periodicity of crystal is disturbed by atomic disorder, its electronic state becomes inhomogeneous and band dispersion is obscured. In case of Fe-based superconductors, disorder of chalcogen/pnictogen height causes disorder of Fe 3d level splitting.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Investigation of spectroscopic and thermo-mechanical behaviors of different phenanthroimidazole-azo dyes in solvent and polymer medium

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
The aim of this study is the investigation of the interaction between dyes and polymers which have different polarities. Dye doped polymer films have larger application areas because of the fact that dye is more stable when doped in polymer compared to ...

Exciton Mediated Superconductivity in PrOs4Sb12

open access: yes, 2005
The most important character of the exotic superconductor PrOs4Sb12 is the existence of low-lying excitations (excitons) with a finite energy gap and it appears as the magnetic field-induced order above 4.5 T.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Peculiarities of helium porosity evolution in the ferritic–martensitic steels produced by spark plasma sintering

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2018
Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic–martensitic steels are considered as promising structural materials for fusion reactors, as well as for active zone of new generations fast reactors.

A self-consistent mechanics of composite materials

open access: yes, 1965
T he macroscopic elastic moduli of two-phase composites are estimated by a method that takes account of the inhomogeneity of stress and strain in a way similar to the Hershey-Kroner theory of crystalline aggregates.
