The orbital characters and k dispersions of bands in iron-pnictide NaFeAs

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 2011
Abstract The electronic structure and orbital characters of iron-pnictide NaFeAs have been studied by polarization dependent angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. Some of the bands are mixed with the orbitals of opposite symmetries, which could be interpreted by the hybridization among the bands.

Influence of the acid–basic character of oxide surfaces in dispersants effectiveness

Ceramics International, 2004
Abstract Physical–chemical surface character has been described as a determinant factor in adsorbing polyelectrolytes onto oxide surfaces. Since basically composed by hydroxyl groups, the acidity or basicity induced by the bulk lattice in such groups seems to be of great relevance in the adsorption process.

The temporal disperse character in the nonlinear propagation of high power microwave

2004 Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference, 2004. Proceedings., 2005
The paper presents a multilayer model of the plasma produced by high power microwaves (HPM) propagating in the atmosphere when air breakdown happens, and analyses the temporally disperse characteristic in the nonlinear propagation of HPM in the plasma.

The character of the dispersion of the refractive index near an isolated spectral line

Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2015
An approximate analog of the Kramers-Kronig relationships for an isolated spectral line is proposed. Expressions are obtained for the real part of the dielectric susceptibility of a substance near a spectral line for collisional, Doppler, and time-of-flight spreading of the spectral line.

The Tensor Character of the Dispersion Coefficient in Anisotropic Porous Media

1972
Publisher Summary This chapter presents the reestablishment of the dispersion tensor for the anisotropic medium starting from the basic scattering mechanism. Since the mechanism, proved realistic enough for the isotropic case, it is considered to be acceptable for the anisotropic case as well.

Seed Dispersal as a Maternally Influenced Character: Mechanistic Basis of Maternal Effects and Selection on Maternal Characters in an Annual Plant

The American Naturalist, 1999
Maternal influences on progeny characters affect phenotypic correlations between characters expressed in maternal and progeny generations and consequently influence evolutionary responses to selection. Net selection on maternally influenced characters depends on selection both on the progeny character and on the maternal characters that influence it. I

The Plundering of the Ceylonese Royal Treasury, 1551–1553: Its Character, Cost, and Dispersal

2018
Following the mysterious death in 1551 of Bhuvanekabāhu VII, a thorough inventory of the Ceylonese royal treasury was drafted by Simao Botelho for the Portuguese State of India (the Estado). Although published in full by Sousa Viterbo in 1904, it has received little attention from scholars.
