Higher-Order Nonlinear Dispersive Equations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1994
We study nonlinear dispersive equations of the form \[ ∂ t u + ∂ x 2 j + 1 u + P ( u , ∂ x u

Dispersive Properties for Discrete Schrödinger Equations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fourier Analysis and Applications, 2011
In this paper we prove dispersive estimates for the system formed by two coupled discrete Schr dinger equations. We obtain estimates for the resolvent of the discrete operator and prove that it satisfies the limiting absorption principle. The decay of the solutions is proved by using classical and some new results on oscillatory integrals.

The Effect of Viscosity and Heterogeneity on Propagation of G–Type Waves

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2017
Earthquakes yield motions of massive rock layers accompanied by vibrations which travel in waves. This paper analyses the possibility of G-type wave propagation along the plane surface at the interface of two different media which is assumed to be ...

Propagation of SH waves in an regular non homogeneous monoclinic crustal layer lying over a non-homogeneous semi-infinite medium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2016
The present paper discusses the dispersion equation for SH waves in a non-homogeneous monoclinic layer over a semi infinite isotropic medium. The wave velocity equation has been obtained.

Dispersion Estimates for Spherical Schrödinger Equations [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Henri Poincaré, 2016
The authors consider a one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a real integrable potential and a given angular momentum, with the goal of providing dispersive decay solution estimates for the resulting differential equations. The behavior of the Jost function near the edge of the continuous spectrum is also studied.

Using Hydraulic Parameters to Estimate Longitudinal Dispersion Coefficient in Open Channel

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2009
A comparative analysis of previous theoretical and empirical equations is applied to evaluate their behavior in predicting dispersion coefficient in open channel.

Free-carrier driven spatio-temporal dynamics in amplifying silicon waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We theoretically investigate the free-carrier induced spatio-temporal dynamics of continuous waves in silicon waveguides embedded in an amplifying medium.

Calculating Water Wavelength Using Dispersion Relation and Approximation

open access: yesUndergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two, 2019
The dispersion relation equation is used to directly compute wave number and wave length to compliment water wave pressure sensor readings. Waves are measured to help coastal engineering to better mitigate coastal infrastructures.
