Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The classification of traveling wave solutions and superposition of multi-solutions to Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion

open access: yes, 2006
Under the traveling wave transformation, Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion is reduced to an integrable ODE whose general solution can be obtained using the trick of one-parameter group.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Wave propagation in periodic fluid-solid layered media

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2016
Dispersion equation is derived for the Floquet waves in a horizontal periodically layered fluid-solid medium. It is shown that the dispersion equation consists of four factors.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Solution of the Burger’s Equation for Longitudinal Dispersion Phenomena Occurring in Miscible Phase Flow through Porous Media [PDF]

open access: yesITB Journal of Engineering Science, 2012
An approximate solution of longitudinal dispersion phenomena occurring in two phase miscible fluid flow through porous media has been obtained by using the group theoretic approach.

Temporal Solitons in an Optically Injected Kerr Cavity with Two Spectral Filters

open access: yesOptics, 2022
We propose and analyze a theoretical scheme of an injected Kerr cavity, where the chromatic dispersion is induced by propagation of light through two Lorentzian spectral filters with different widths and central frequencies.

Spatiotemporal Model for Kerr Comb Generation in Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators

open access: yes, 2012
We establish an exact partial differential equation to model Kerr comb generation in whispering-gallery mode resonators. This equation is a variant of the Lugiato-Lefever equation that includes higher-order dispersion and nonlinearity.
