Reflection and transmission of P-wave incident obliquely at the interface between an elastic solid and a fluid-saturated porous medium: a comprehensive study via the model of soil mechanics

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
IntroductionA model of soil mechanics is used to study the problem of reflection and transmission of an obliquely incident plane P-waveon a discontinuous interface.

On the Spectra of One-Dimensional Schrödinger Operators With Singular Potentials

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2019
The paper is devoted to the spectral properties of one-dimensional Schrödinger operators (1)Squ(x)=(-d2dx2+q(x))u(x),    x∈ℝ, with potentials q = q0+qs, where q0∈L∞(ℝ) is a regular potential, and qs∈D′(ℝ) is a singular potential with support on a ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Modelling seasonal changes of longitudinal dispersion at the Okna River

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum. Formatio Circumiectus, 2020
Aim of the study: This study presents an opportunity to determine a value of longitudinal dispersion and is focused on the comparison of seasonal variation of the longitudinal dispersion predetermined by natural conditions of the river aquatic zone ...

Local Smoothing Properties of Dispersive Equations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Mathematical Society, 1988
The authors describe a general local smoothing effect for dispersive equations and systems (Korteweg-de Vries, Benjamin-Ono, intermediate long wave, various Boussinesq and Schrödinger equations are included). A typical result obtained in {\S} 2 is: if \(u_ 0\) (the initial datum) belongs to \(H^ s(R^ n)\) then, for almost \(t\neq 0\), the solution u(t,\

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Collisional invariants for the phonon Boltzmann equation

open access: yes, 2006
For the phonon Boltzmann equation with only pair collisions we characterize the set of all collisional invariants under some mild conditions on the dispersion ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Background independent quantization and wave propagation

open access: yes, 2009
We apply a type of background independent "polymer" quantization to a free scalar field in a flat spacetime. Using semi-classical states, we find an effective wave equation that is both nonlinear and Lorentz invariance violating.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
