Dispersion in step-index silicone-clad fibers
Applied Optics, 1979Optical properties of materials making up multimode step-index fibers with inorganic glass cores and silicone cladding have been examined using bulk sample measurement techniques. Mode dispersion and numerical aperture for the wavelength range 0.4-1.4 microm for two fibers are reported.

Refractive index dispersions of liquid crystals
Optical Engineering, 1993Refractive indices of two nematic liquid crystals, 5CB and 5PCH, were measured from the 400- to 800-nm region at various temperatures. Results fit the three-band model well. Through comparisons, the contributions of σ and π electrons to the refractive indices and birefringence of uniaxial liquid crystals are evaluated quantitatively.
