Reduced dispersion slope, non-zero dispersion fiber
24th European Conference on Optical Communication. ECOC '98 (IEEE Cat. No.98TH8398), 2002A new reduced-dispersion-slope non-zero-dispersion fiber design, optimized for use in DWDM systems is presented. The low dispersion slope, S/sub 0/=0.045 ps/nm/sup 2/-km, results in significantly less variation in dispersion over the EDFA gain band these fibers can be designed with four-wave-mixing performance superior to large effective area fibers ...

Broad band dispersion slope compensation of dispersion shifted fiber using negative slope fiber
24th European Conference on Optical Communication. ECOC '98 (IEEE Cat. No.98TH8398), 2002The dispersion of zero and/or non-zero dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) at 1550 nm was compensated to be flat about 30 nm band-range, by connecting with dispersion slope compensating fiber, with negative slope of 20 times larger absolute value than DSF.

Negative slope dispersion compensating fibers
OFC/IOOC . Technical Digest. Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 1999, and the International Conference on Integrated Optics and Optical Fiber Communication, 2003Two types of DC fibers are presented. The first is an improved high figure of merit (267) negative slope dispersion-compensating fiber intended for DC modules. Also presented is a type II DC fiber intended for field deployment that leads to total broadband dispersion compensation.
