Particularmente en los trópicos, donde la diversidad de plantas y animales frugívoros es alta, y las relaciones interespecíficas son complejas generando redes de interacción donde las especies cumplen papeles funcionales diferenciales.

From species lists to interactions: Network structure, not richness, guides seed dispersal management in human‐modified islands

Our findings show that management strategies can create fundamentally different seed dispersal regimes, even under similar environmental conditions. Anthropogenic diversification reshapes network organisation into distinct structural configurations, rather than consistently enhancing overall cohesion.

The Flooding Gradient Affects Seed Dispersal by Fruit‐Eating Fishes in Amazonian Whitewater Floodplain Forests

This research approaches the interaction between frugivorous fish and the flooded forests in the central Amazon. We evaluated the fruit consumption by fish and the seed dispersal potential along the flood gradient. We tested the hypothesis that the role of fish as seed dispersers varies between low várzea (LV) and high várzea (HV) forests.

Animal–Plant Interactions Under Defaunation: Consequences for Amazonian Trees of Commercial Interest

We experimentally investigated the effects of medium‐ and large‐sized mammal defaunation on the removal and fate of seeds from economically important forest species in Amazonian forests. Our results show that mammal exclusion significantly reduced seed removal, although the magnitude of this effect varied among plant species.
