Our findings show that management strategies can create fundamentally different seed dispersal regimes, even under similar environmental conditions. Anthropogenic diversification reshapes network organisation into distinct structural configurations, rather than consistently enhancing overall cohesion.

Abstract Few facets of biology vary more than functional traits and life‐history traits. To explore this vast variation, functional ecologists and population ecologists have developed independent approaches that identify the mechanisms behind and consequences of trait variation.

Studies on the Dispersor of Air Bubbles in Water for the Transportation of Fish in Life
In order to obtain the fundamental knowledge of the efficacy of the dispersor of air bubbles in water used in the case of transporting fish in life, four series of experiments as mentioned below were caried out on some problems concerning the rate of dissolution of air from the fine bubbles into water, and the effects of air bubbles on fish.

This research approaches the interaction between frugivorous fish and the flooded forests in the central Amazon. We evaluated the fruit consumption by fish and the seed dispersal potential along the flood gradient. We tested the hypothesis that the role of fish as seed dispersers varies between low várzea (LV) and high várzea (HV) forests.

The ecology of attraction: Fruit traits and frugivore diversity in neotropical Piper
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Fruit traits can benefit plant reproduction by enhancing seed dispersal by mutualistic frugivores (e.g. seed dispersal syndromes), but identifying the role of specific fruit traits in mediating frugivory is challenging because these traits can serve multiple functions ...

Animal–Plant Interactions Under Defaunation: Consequences for Amazonian Trees of Commercial Interest
We experimentally investigated the effects of medium‐ and large‐sized mammal defaunation on the removal and fate of seeds from economically important forest species in Amazonian forests. Our results show that mammal exclusion significantly reduced seed removal, although the magnitude of this effect varied among plant species.

Animal‐mediated seed dispersal: A review of study methods
Abstract By dispersing seeds, animals provide ecological functions critical for the ecology, evolution, and conservation of plants. We review quantitative and empirical approaches and emerging technologies to quantify processes and patterns of animal‐mediated seed dispersal (zoochory) across its phases: from predispersal to postdispersal.

Seed dispersal plays a crucial role in the colonization of new habitats, especially in arid environments with limited resources. In the case of the Pepper Tree (Schinus molle L.), an invasive species in Mexico, studies were conducted in the Llanos de ...
