Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

A theoretical model of displacement response of clamped circular plate under multiple far-field blast loads

open access: yesBaozha yu Chongji
Regarding the displacement response of clamped circular plates under multiple far-field blast loads, we proposes a novel theoretical modeling approach based on membrane theory energy equations, by simplifying multiple blast loads into linearly decaying ...

Thermoelectroelastic response of a piezoelectric cylinder with D∞ symmetry under axisymmetric mechanical and thermal loading

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2017
Carbon-neutral and biodegradable materials such as wood and poly-L-lactic acid play an important role in reducing environmental loads. Therefore, this study theoretically analyzed the thermoelectroelastic problem for a solid cylinder with D∞ symmetry ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Some Consequences of the Law of Local Energy Conservation in Electromagnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
At electromagnetic interactions of particles there arises defect of masses, i.e. the energy is liberated since the particles of the different charges are attracted.
