An electromagnet was placed on a field displacement isolator in place of the permanent magnet. Variations of attenuation with field for a variety of conditions are shown in the accompanying figures. Figure 1 shows variations with frequency as a parameter and Fig. 2 with position as a parameter.

Displacement Currents and Magnetic Fields
American Journal of Physics, 1963The methods of calculating fields due to quasi-steady currents in closed and unclosed circuits are reviewed. It is emphasized that it is sufficient to apply the Biot-Savart law to all the moving charges and to ignore the vacuum displacement current.

Displacement Vector Field Imaging
ISMRM Annual MeetingMotivation: Conventional techniques to encode tissue displacements induced by transcranial ultrasound only capture the magnitudes. To accurately measure the displacement, the encoding gradient must be aligned with the sonication direction. Goal(s): Develop a methodology to encode the displacements as vector field.

Vibrational Displacement in a Gravity Field
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 2003Vertical vibrational motion in a resistant medium in a gravity field is considered. Critical parameters for the motion regime in which the center of gravity of the system does not change its position with respect to the Earth surface are found.

Fast Image Upsampling via the Displacement Field
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2014In this paper, we present a fast image upsampling method within a two-scale framework to ensure the sharp construction of upsampled image for both large-scale edges and small-scale structures. In our approach, the low-frequency image is recovered via a novel sharpness preserving interpolation technique based on a well-constructed displacement field ...

Displacement field analysis: calculation of distortion measures from displacement maps
Ultramicroscopy, 1991Abstract Displacement fields of two-dimensional crystals used for correlation averaging (CAV) or lattice unbending contain information about crystalline imperfections. A new method of characterisation based on the theory of elasticity is proposed allowing an invariant quantification of local crystal distortions.

Fault Displacement Modelling Using 3D Vector Fields
Proceedings, 2010In history matching and sensitivity analysis it is useful to study the effect of changing the position of horizons near faults and the resulting facies juxtaposition due to change in fault displacements. A new algorithm for calculating a 3D displacement field is developed.

So far we have discussed the problem how displacement vectors (DV) can be determined at single points in the image. Now we turn to the question how a continuous displacement vector field (DVF) can be estimated. The idea is to collect the sparse velocity information obtained with the local operations discussed in the last chapter and to compose it into ...

Earthquake Displacement Fields
1970The standard model for the calculation of the displacement fields of earthquakes is briefly reviewed. The source dimensions of a set of 27 strike-slip faults are used to obtain empirical relationships between fault dimensions and earthquake magnitude. It is shown that only large earthquakes contribute significantly to the displacement fields at large ...

Displacement mapping using flow fields
Proceedings of the 21st annual conference on Computer graphics and interactive techniques - SIGGRAPH '94, 1994Existing displacement mapping techniques operate only in directions normal to the surface, a restriction which limits the richness of the set of representable objects. This work removes that restriction by allowing displacements to be defined along curved trajectories of flow fields.
