Disseminated gonococcemia

A 26‐year‐old woman presented with a high‐grade fever and chills of 2 days’ duration. She complained of associated joint pain, especially in the wrists and knees. One day before admission, tender skin lesions began to develop on the fingers, and subsequently spread to the more proximal extremities.

Disseminated blastomycosis

A 26-year-old veiled Saudi-Arabian woman presented with hemoptysis, and multiple nodules and abscesses. A skin biopsy specimen revealed yeast forms consistent with Blastomyces dermatitidis. Fungal cultures from bronchoscopy and skin specimens also grew B dermatitidis. She was treated with oral itraconazole (200 mg twice a day).

Disseminated pheohyphomycosis

A 40‐year‐old male agricultural laborer presented to our clinic with asymptomatic swellings on his left hand and left leg of 2 years’ duration. A pea‐sized swelling was first noticed on the back of the left hand, which was gradual in onset and slowly progressed to its present size.

Disseminated Cysticercosis

Cysticercosis is a common public health problem in the Tropics. However, disseminated cysticercosis is rare. We report a patient with chronic liver disease and seizures, in whom a simple plain radiographic examination helped in narrowing down the differential diagnosis to disseminated cysticercosis.
