Energy Dissipation in Hilbert Envelopes on Motion Waveforms Detected in Vibrating Dynamical Systems: An Axiomatic Approach

open access: yesCommunications in Advanced Mathematical Sciences
This paper introduces an axiomatic approach in the theory of energy dissipation in Hilbert envelopes on motion waveforms emanating from various vibrating dynamical systems. A Hilbert envelope is a curve tangent to peak points on a motion waveform.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Non-Perturbative Renormalization Group Analysis of the Ohmic Quantum Dissipation

open access: yes, 2003
We analyze quantum tunneling with the Ohmic dissipation by the non-perturbative renormalization group method. We calculate the localization susceptibility to evaluate the critical dissipation for the quantum-classical transition, and find considerably ...

Noncontact atomic force microscopy simulator with phase-locked-loop controlled frequency detection and excitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A simulation of an atomic force microscope operating in the constant amplitude dynamic mode is described. The implementation mimics the electronics of a real setup including a digital phase-locked loop (PLL).

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Identification and Characterization of Bacterial Isolates and their Role in the Degradation of Neonicotinoid Insecticide Thiamethoxam

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2017
Thiamethoxam (THIA) degrading bacterial colonies were isolated from soil obtained from different ecosystems such as cotton, cabbage and paddy tolerating high concentrations of the insecticide followed by enrichment technique. Eight colonies were isolated

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

Local fluctuation dissipation relation

open access: yes, 2002
In this letter I show that the recently proposed local version of the fluctuation dissipation relations follows from the general principle of stochastic stability in a way that is very similar to the usual proof of the fluctuation dissipation theorem for

Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.
