Time Reversibility, Correlation Decay and the Steady State Fluctuation Relation for Dissipation
Steady state fluctuation relations for nonequilibrium systems are under intense investigation because of their important practical implications in nanotechnology and biology. However the precise conditions under which they hold need clarification.

Residual Stress States in Microstructurally Graded PBF–LB/M Austenitic Steel Components
This study examines microstructurally graded 316L rectangular tube profiles fabricated via PBF–LB/M using a dual‐laser system. A 1 kW top‐hat and a 400 W Gaussian laser create distinct grain sizes and crystallographic texture. Mechanical properties are linked to microstructural evolution driven by processing conditions.

Estimating sea-surface temperature transport fields from stochastically-forced fluctuations
In this article we introduce a method to quantify the transport of sea surface temperature (SST) from SST fluctuations. Previous studies have estimated the advective transport of SST from time-lag correlation of SST anomalies.

This study explores the ablation efficiency and surface quality of laser‐treated stainless steel alloys (AISI 304, AISI 420, and AISI 316Ti) using an ultrashort pulsed laser and varying burst parameters (MHz, GHz, and Bi‐burst). Both ablation rates and surface quality parameters are determined, including isotropy surface roughness values, highlighting ...

Energy-dependent path of dissipation in nanomechanical resonators.
Energy decay plays a central role in a wide range of phenomena, such as optical emission, nuclear fission, and dissipation in quantum systems. Energy decay is usually described as a system leaking energy irreversibly into an environmental bath.

By combining porous, solid, and carbon fiber‐reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane within a single 3D printed honeycomb structure, this current work achieved precise control over spatial stiffness while ensuring strong interlayer adhesion. The findings demonstrate enhanced energy absorption and densification strain, outperforming traditional uniform ...

Topographic generation of submesoscale centrifugal instability and energy dissipation
Most of the ocean kinetic energy is contained in the large scale currents and the vigorous geostrophic eddy field, at horizontal scales of order 100 km. To achieve equilibrium the geostrophic currents must viscously dissipate their kinetic energy at much
