Dissipative soliton resonances

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2008
We have found a dissipative soliton resonance which applies to nonlinear dynamical systems governed by the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation. Specifically, for particular values of the equation parameters, the soliton energy increases indefinitely.

Dissipative Soliton Resonance: Adiabatic Theory and Thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Mathematical Physics, 2023
Abstract We present the adiabatic theory of dissipative solitons (DS) of complex cubic-quintic nonlinear Ginzburg–Landau equation (CQGLE). Solutions in the closed analytical form in the spectral domain have the shape of Rayleigh–Jeans distribution for a positive (normal) dispersion.

Period doubling of multiple dissipative-soliton-resonance pulses in a fibre laser

open access: yesOSA Continuum, 2020
We report on the experimental observation of the period doubling of multiple dissipative-soliton-resonance (DSR) pulses in an all-normal-dispersion fibre laser, based on a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror. By increasing the pump power, the transition from a single DSR pulse to multiple DSR pulses was observed, in addition to the typical linear pulse ...

Ultra‐High Temperature Calcination of Crystalline α‐Fe2O3 and Its Nonlinear Optical Properties for Ultrafast Photonics [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Science
As a typical transition metal oxide, α‐Fe2O3 has garnered significant attention due to its advantages in nonlinear optical applications, such as strong third‐order nonlinearity and fast carrier recovery time.

Simulation of generation of dissipative soliton, dissipative soliton resonance and noise-like pulse in Yb-doped mode-locked fiber lasers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
we report three types of pulse generation in Yb-doped nonlinear polarization rotation mode-locked fiber lasers in all-normal-dispersion regime through simulation, including dissipative soliton, dissipative soliton resonance and noise-like pulse. We distinguish the different conditions of generating such different pulses by analyzing the transmission ...

High-Order Domain-Wall Dark Harmonic Pulses and Their Transition to H-Shaped and DSR Pulses in a Dumbbell-Shaped Fiber Laser at 1563 nm [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines
In this work, we report the formation of multiple mode-locking states in an Erbium/Ytterbium co-doped fiber laser, such as domain-wall (DW) dark pulses, high-order dark harmonic pulses, dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) pulses, and dual-wavelength h ...

Fundamentals and applications of spatial dissipative solitons in photonic devices : [Chapter 6] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We review the properties of optical spatial dissipative solitons (SDS). These are stable, self‐localized optical excitations sitting on a uniform, or quasi‐uniform, background in a dissipative environment like a nonlinear optical cavity.

Self-pulsing dynamics in a cavity soliton laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The dynamics of a broad-area vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) with frequency-selective feedback supporting bistable spatial solitons is analyzed experimentally and theoretically. The transient dynamics of a switch-on of a soliton induced by
