Dissociation of one-dimensional matter-wave breathers due to quantum many-body effects

open access: yes, 2017
We use the ab initio Bethe Ansatz dynamics to predict the dissociation of one-dimensional cold-atom breathers that are created by a quench from a fundamental soliton.

Amphiphilic blockers punch through a mutant CLC-0 pore. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Intracellularly applied amphiphilic molecules, such as p-chlorophenoxy acetate (CPA) and octanoate, block various pore-open mutants of CLC-0. The voltage-dependent block of a particular pore-open mutant, E166G, was found to be multiphasic. In symmetrical

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

DISSOANALYTIC PERSPECTIVE ON TRAUMA, DISSOCIATION AND ALTER PERSONALITY: PLURALISTIC PERSONALITY, HOLISTIC SELF, DEEP MEMORY, AND CONSCIOUSNESS

open access: yesTurkish International Journal of Special Education and Guidance & Counselling, 2023
Dissociation is an “escape way” from unbearable traumatic events, a tendency for denying or oppressing traumas and their effects as well as the emotions stemming from them.

Dissociative states in dreams and brain chaos: Implications for creative awareness

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
This article reviews recent findings indicating some common brain processes during dissociative states and dreaming with the aim to outline a perspective that neural chaotic states during dreaming can be closely related to dissociative states that may ...

Novel details on the dissociation of casein micelle suspensions as a function of pH and temperature

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2023
: Membrane filtration is a widespread process for fractionation and recombination of milk components. Although the dissociation of micellar caseins has been studied in detail in skim milk, it is important to better understand the dissociation dynamics ...

Electromagnetic response of light nuclei

open access: yes, 1999
We show examples of neutron capture, photo dissociation and Coulomb dissociation processes, relevant for studying nuclear structure properties of some light nuclei. In the case of the neutron capture, we show how interference effects among the direct and

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Safety and Tolerability of Ketamine Use in Treatment-Resistant Bipolar Depression Patients with Regard to Central Nervous System Symptomatology: Literature Review and Analysis

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
The current psychopharmacological treatment approaches for major depression focus on monoaminergic interventions, which are ineffective in a large proportion of patients.
