Dissolution Profile in Relation to Initial Particle Distribution
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1975A general equation was derived describing the complete and exact dissolution profile of powders under sink conditions. It is applicable to powders having any initial particle-size distribution, with particles dissolving according to any explicit equation.

Review of Methodologies for the Comparison of Dissolution Profile Data
Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology, 1997Methods of comparing in vitro dissolution profile data are of interest in the development of Extended Release dosage formulations. One is usually interested in determining if the dissolution profile for the Test formulation is significantly different from that of the Reference formulation.

Dissolution profile of log-normal powders II: Dissolution before critical time
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1974The dissolution of log-normal powders, particularly in that period before the smallest particles disappear, was examined. An approximation for the slope of a cube-root law plot was developed for the dissolution before the critical time of ideally distributed powders.

Dissolution Profiles in Column Dissolution
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1986A self-consistent model for open-ended column dissolution is presented. It is shown that when the concentration of the efflux stream from the column is plotted versus time, then the profile is fairly level at first and then drops rapidly, in the form of an inverse sigmoid profile.

Statistical comparison of dissolution profiles
Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 2015Statistical methods to assess similarity of dissolution profiles are introduced. Sixteen groups of dissolution profiles from a full factorial design were used to demonstrate implementation details. Variables in the design include drug strength, tablet stability time, and dissolution testing condition. The 16 groups were considered similar when compared

Dissolution test for citalopram in tablets and comparison of in vitro dissolution profiles
European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, 2007A dissolution test for tablets containing 20 mg of citalopram was developed and validated using a reverse-phase liquid chromatographic method and this dissolution test was applied to compare dissolution profiles. The sink conditions, filters, stability of the drug and specificity on different dissolution media were tested to choose a discriminatory ...

Effects of Sinker Shapes on Dissolution Profiles
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1989In dissolution testing, according to the U.S. Pharmacopeia, a nonreactive stainless steel wire helix is typically used to sink dosage forms that would otherwise float. The objective of this investigation was to determine if other sinker shapes will influence the rate, extent, or variability of dissolution.

Dissolution Profiles of Drugs from Tablets
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1978A theoretical equation to describe the drug dissolution from a tablet was derived by combining and equation for the disintegration rate of a tablet with an equation for the dissolution of particles. The theory is based on the assumptions that: (a) dissolution occurs only from the particles released in a medium by tablet disintegration, (b) the number ...

Dissolution profiles of mesalazine formulationsin vitro
Pharmaceutisch Weekblad Scientific Edition, 1990In vitro dissolution profiles of three controlled-release mesalazine formulations were determined at pH 1.0, 6.0 and 7.5. A closed-column type dissolution apparatus was used. A reproducible gradual dissolution profile was seen for Pentasa at all pH values. Dissolution starts immediately and is complete after 20 h.

Novel Metrics to Compare Dissolution Profiles
Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, 2002To evaluate four novel metrics that compare dissolution profiles and assess their performance characteristics by comparing dissolution profiles of FAST and SLOW immediate release metoprolol tartrate tablets. The four novel metrics (rho, rho m, delta a, and delta s), along with f2, were applied to dissolution data from FAST and SLOW metoprolol tartrate ...
