A spectral characterization of strongly distance-regular graphs with diameter four [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
A graph $G$ with $d+1$ distinct eigenvalues is called strongly distance-regular if $G$ itself is distance-regular, and its distance-$d$ graph $G_d$ is strongly-regular. In this note we provide a spectral characterization of those distance-regular graphs with diameter $d=4$ which are strongly distance-regular.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Distance-critical and distance-redundant graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
If a vertex in a graph can be deleted without affecting distances among the other vertices, we shall say it is distance-redundant. Graphs with all, some or no such vertices are discussed. (The latter class was termed distance-critical by Erd\H{o}s and Howorka).

Generic distance-squared mappings on plane curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A distance-squared function is one of the most significant functions in the application of singularity theory to differential geometry. Moreover, distance-squared mappings are naturally extended mappings of distance-squared functions, wherein each component is a distance-squared function.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

A note on distance-hereditary graphs whose complement is also distance-hereditary [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Distance-hereditary graphs are known to be the graphs that are totally decomposable for the split decomposition. We characterise distance-hereditary graphs whose complement is also distance-hereditary by their split decomposition and by their modular decomposition.

Genealogical distance under selection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We study the genealogical distance of two randomly chosen individuals in a population that evolves according to a two type Moran model with mutation and selection. We prove that this distance is stochastically smaller than the corresponding distance in the neutral model, when the population size is large.
