Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

Aging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

The average distance \(\mu(G)\) of a graph \(G\) with \(n\) vertices is obtained from the sum of distances \(d_G(x,y)\) for all ordered pairs \(x\), \(y\) of vertices of \(G\) by dividing by \(n(n-1)\). By \(\gamma(G)\) the domination number of \(G\) is denoted, i.e. the minimum number of vertices of a dominating set in \(G\).

ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.
