Still on the same page: A gender comparison of the top 100 picture books from the UK and China published 2011–2020

open access: yesChildren &Society, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract As a primary source for the early ages, picture books guide preschool children's gender perception through stories and illustrations. However, previous studies have criticised an overall gender inequality in children's picture books. Compared to the increasing attention on gender diversity in the UK picture book industry, there has been little

Examples of distance magic labelings of the $6$-dimensional hypercube

open access: yes, 2021
A distance magic labeling of an $n$-dimensional hypercube is a labeling of its vertices by natural numbers from $\{0, \ldots, 2^n-1\}$, such that for all vertices $v$ the sum of the labels of the neighbors of $v$ is the same. Such a labeling is called neighbor-balanced, if, moreover, for each vertex $v$ and an index $i=0,\ldots,n-1$, exactly half of ...

The distance magic property and two families of Cartesian product graphs

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Graph Theory and Applications
Let G = G(V, E) be a simple graph. The graph G is said to be distance magic if there exists a bijection f : V → {1, 2, …, |V|} and a constant s such that Σy ∈ N(x)f(y)=s for all x ∈ V.

$k$-Distance Magic Labeling and Long Brush Graphs

open access: yes, 2022
We define a labeling $f:$ $V(G)$ $\rightarrow$ $\{1, 2, \ldots, n\}$ on a graph $G$ of order $n \geq 3$ as a \emph{$k$-distance magic} ($k$-DM) if $\sum_{w\in \partial N_k(u)}{ f(w)}$ is a constant and independent of $u\in V(G)$ where $\partial N_k(u)$ = $\{v\in V(G): d(u, v) = k\}$, $k\in\mathbb{N}$. Graph $G$ is called a \emph{$k$-DM} if it has a $k$-

Controlling the Guanidinium Cation Rotation by Cation–π Interactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A lanthanide π‐container has been employed to trap a guanidinium cation inside the aromatic cavity by cation–π interactions. X‐ray crystallography and solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy at fast magic‐angle spinning (MAS) frequencies have been utilized to probe the underlying host–guest interactions.

Proline Ring-Inversion Dynamics in Peptides Enable Cross-Relaxation-Based Dynamic Nuclear Polarization. [PDF]

open access: yesChemphyschem
A systematic investigation of SCREAM‐DNP beyond methyl groups, using ring‐inversion dynamics on proline as a model compound. Comparison between free proline and proline‐containing oligopeptides at different sequence positions shows how local structural context modulates ring dynamics and site‐specific DNP enhancement.

Squeezed‐Vacuum Bosonic Codes

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We introduce a family of bosonic quantum error‐correcting codes built as a rotation‐symmetric superposition of squeezed vacuum states, which promise protection against both loss and dephasing noise channels. The robustness of these “squeezed‐vacuum codes” arises from being arranged at evenly spaced angles in phase‐space, and simultaneously in ...

3D anatomical atlas of the heads of male and female adult Chamaeleo calyptratus

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
The veiled chameleon is a model organism in reptile development research. Utilizing contrast‐enhanced microCT and deep learning segmentation models, we have generated the first digital atlases of the skull, nervous system, cranial muscles and hyolingual muscles.

Oldest well‐preserved euprimate petrosal, from the early Eocene of India (Vastan Lignite Mine, Gujarat)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract An exquisitely preserved, isolated partial petrosal with associated fragmentary stapes is described from the Vastan Lignite Mine (Gujarat, India), dated to the early Eocene (~54.5 Ma). Several anatomical traits (e.g., large petrosal plate; posterolateral entry of the internal carotid artery to the tympanic cavity; bony tubes surrounding the ...

Harnessing Generative AI for Sustainable Supply Chains: Lean, Circular and Green Perspectives

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Generative artificial intelligence is playing a significant role in the transformation of digital ecosystems by reinventing the processes of content generation, process automation, product innovation and customer experience. At the same time that these technologies are becoming more integrated into routine operations, the focus has shifted to ...
