Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Preserving privacy of spatial distances using randomized geometric surface calculations
This paper introduces and evaluates a novel method for privacy-preserving distance computations. The method is based on randomized geometric surface calculations and replaces coordinates with contextual variables representing information about the ...

Bioinformatics has two important problems for the study of evolutionary processes: calculating the distance between DNA sequences and restoring a matrix of distances sequences of different genomes when not all initial elements are known. Due to the large

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

On the Distance Spectral Radius of Trees with Given Degree Sequence
We consider the problem of maximizing the distance spectral radius and a slight generalization thereof among all trees with some prescribed degree sequence.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
