Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Multispectral SNSPD Using a Modified Distributed Bragg Reflector, Gold Mirror, and Multilayer-Nanowire Structures

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
A multispectral superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD) that is sensitive to different incident photon wavelength bands, is proposed. The SNSPD consists of a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR), a gold mirror, and two regions employing four

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Design of a Label-Free, Distributed Bragg Grating Resonator Based Dielectric Waveguide Biosensor

open access: yesPhotonics, 2015
In this work, we present a resonant, dielectric waveguide device based on distributed Bragg gratings for label-free biosensing applications. The refractive index sensitive optical transducer aims at improving the performance of planar waveguide grating ...

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Neodymium‐doped glass channel waveguide laser containing an integrated distributed Bragg reflector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
An integrated, distributed Bragg reflector laser in a Nd‐doped, glass, channel waveguide is reported for the first time. The waveguide is fabricated using Ag+ thermal ion exchange in a soda‐lime‐silicate‐glass containing 2% Nd2O3 by weight.

Low-frequency vibration measurement by a dual-frequency DBR fiber laser

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2017
A dual-frequency distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) fiber laser based sensor is demonstrated for low-frequency vibration measurement through the Doppler effect.

Novel 1064 nm DBR lasers combining active layer removal and surface gratings

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
The fabrication and characterisation details of novel distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) diode lasers emitting around 1064 nm are presented here. The AlGaAs epitaxial layer stack used here allows the removal of the active quantum wells in passive sections

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Highly tolerant a-Si distributed Bragg reflector fabricated by oblique angle deposition

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate a highly tolerant and highly reflective broadband a-Si distributed Bragg reflector fabricated by oblique angle deposition. By tuning the refractive index of an a-Si film, a high index contrast material system was achieved.
