Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

Fabrication and characterization of hollow waveguide distributed bragg reflectors
We present the fabrication and characterization of a novel distributed Bragg reflector consisting of a grating loaded slab hollow waveguide. In this structure, we are able to obtain a high reflectivity even by using thin and short surface gratings because of the large contrast in refractive indices between a grating material and an air-core.

Self-injection-locked thin-film regenerative laser amplifier
Summary: Organic lasers based on distributed feedback (DFB) microcavities have been extensively investigated. However, the application of these lasers is limited by their low output power and large beam divergence.

Electrically induced Bragg Reflectors in InP/InGaAsP waveguides as ultrafast optoelectronic modulators [PDF]
In this paper, with the help of numerical simulations, we show how it is possible to create a Distributed Bragg Reflector by electrically inducing periodical refractive index variations in unperturbed III-V rib-waveguides to design different kind of ...

Bio‐Inspired Synthesis of Macroporous Single Crystal Particles as Scattering Agents
A general strategy is presented that delivers unique, single‐crystal microparticles that combine submicron macroporosity and uniform particle shapes. A bioinspired approach is used to occlude three distinct types of additives – polystyrene microspheres, polymer vesicles and amino acids – within calcite single crystals, and subsequent thermal annealing ...
